“The cottage is very clean, and exceptionally comfortable.”
The kitchen is very well equipped.
The only downside is the parking. Yes, they say "off road parking", and that is true, but it is a difficult place to park outside, considering there are other vehicles in the terrace, although no-one actually parked in our space.
Since they recommend reversing down the terrace so that it is easier to get out again onto the High Street, this would not have been very easy. However, the owner did say there were other car parks in the village, and we'd made use of one of these. We would like to recommend Whotleberry Tearoom on the High Street in Porlock. Such a lovely, welcoming couple who run it and an excellent tearoom, with homemade cakes, and scones with cream and jam as well as other food on the menu. We would also recommend visiting Dovery Manor Museum, in Porlock, where admission is free. It is a small, but very interesting museum about people and places in the area. Another place we would recommend is Kitnors Tea Garden in Bossington. A charming thatched cottage with picnic tables in the lovely garden and view of Bossington Hill above. Also small marquee available in wet weather. An excellent place to visit, and a car park nearby. The Ship Inn in Porlock is also excellent and provides very good meals, and friendly staff. An area very well worth visiting, including Porlock Weir, with pub, hotel and Harbour Coffee Shop. The studio of Hannah Norman in Porlock is also worth a visit. She paints excellent pet portraits... and the list goes on!!
Thankyou for your feedback we are glad you enjoyed your stay. The cottage is extremely well situated with so many lovely places to eat and explore within walking distance. The cottage is fortunate to have its own parking for one vehicle directly outside, a premium in Porlock. The space is big enough for a 4x4, SUV or estate car, all of which park in the terrace.
