“Metcalfe House is a great place to stay for a large family or group of friends.”

I was slightly concerned about the adjacent camping site but it was no problem at all. It was easy to make contact with the owners if required. Bedding and towels very new and clean. Not all large properties actually have room for everyone to eat together or relax together. We had a great stay.

How reviews work

Our review scores come directly from guests who have stayed with us and chosen to share their feedback.

After their stay, guests can leave a star rating and comments if they wish. The score you see (out of 5 stars) is the average of all the reviews we've received from those guests.

About the location

COMPTON DUNDON

Street 3 miles; Somerton 3 miles; Glastonbury 6 miles; Wells 7 miles.

A rural village nestling at the head of the dreamy Somerset levels. Lush green meadows, meandering rivers, abundant wildlife all surrounded by steep and wooded hills; the countryside doesn’t come much better than this! Just 7 miles away, Glastonbury Abbey and Tor is famous for its pre-history, Ley lines and music festival. The majestic Wells Cathedral is also well worth a visit, and shopaholics are excellently catered for in Street. Further afield, the Regency City of Bath, Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge are all an easy drive away. Overall, an outstandingly beautiful and easily accessible area with much to do and see.

Please note: Noise should be kept to a minimum after 11 PM. Parties of any kind, including hen or stag celebrations, are not allowed.
