“The apartment is very well positioned for the beach and steam train.”
Lots of lovely details in decor, but not cluttered. The twin room in particular was a hit with the lovely bunting.
On arrival, we found it mostly clean (one of the oven trays still had grease on), and we found a handful of dishwasher tablets left out for us from housekeeping, but there was no other welcome pack. We found a couple of tea bags and sugar, but no coffee or milk. We'd usually expect a little something more!
Beds were comfortable, and the lounge/diner in particular spacious. Both bedrooms had a very generous amount of storage, though nowhere was long enough to hang dresses.
Main problem for us was the kitchen. There was a lack of food storage - all the cupboards full of equipment and a few cans of food presumably left by precious visitors.
It worked mostly well, though it took us far too long to get the hob working because the child lock has been left on (we assumed L was "low" not "locked"), and the manual for the hobb wasn't with the other manuals (we eventually found. If). We also found an issue with one of the small appliances, which we reported to the owner and a new one arrived next working day (owner isn't local so had it delivered). It would have really benefitted from oven gloves too.
There were lots of nice touches for families; lots of games and books and we appreciated the extra beach equipment available to borrow.
Be aware that as well as being a first floor apartment with no lift, there's also a short set of steps to the front door and another flight of stairs internally. This meant loading and unloading the car took considerably longer than anticipated (travelling with a young child means bringing half the house!). For that reason alone we wouldn't consider this property again unless more generous arrival and departure times were given. For those travelling light, this is a lovely place to stay (but bring your own oven gloves)!
