    “Delightful cottage with tiny but secure garden, tasteful decor and many homely touches.”

    Great with a dog too, good local walks. Owner responded quickly when Aga packed up, storage radiators and wood burning stove easily compensated.

Turning into the quiet heart of Welcombe village, you draw up beside Chapel Cottage and take in its charming stone exterior, the building resting contentedly beside an old chapel that has long been part of the landscape.

Only a short wander along the lane lies a beautifully preserved thatched pub that has welcomed locals for generations, giving an immediate sense of village life shaped over time.

Step down the small flight of stone steps to reach the open porch and enter the porch hall where coats and walking boots can be left behind before exploring the rooms within.

Move into the sitting room where tiled flooring leads you toward the woodburning stove.

Two sofas, a soft rug and a pair of armchairs gather around its warm glow, offering a welcoming setting to unwind after a day on the coast.

Switch on the TV and DVD player for an easy evening or simply relax as the firelight flickers across the room and the calm of the hamlet settles in around you.

About the location

WELCOMBE

Bude 12 miles; Bideford 14 miles.

A pretty country village just one mile from the high cliffs, rocky coves and golden sands of the north Devon/Cornwall coast, as well as the beach at Welcombe Mouth with its sand, rocks, and some fabulous waves to ride. West, along the coast, are excellent beaches at Widemouth Bay, Sandymouth and Bude. To the north the coast path winds its way toward Hartland Point Lighthouse and on to Clovelly (8 miles) with its steep cobbled streets leading down to the harbour and pub below. No cars allowed here but you can hire a donkey for the ride! In the nearby area are several farm and theme parks, golf courses and outstanding gardens whilst the amenities of Bude are a mere 12 miles away. Everything for an enjoyable holiday.
