The working farm is so much fun ! The onsite shop is so cute and has beef products from the farm which adds to the experience. We bought a chilli con carne and a beef stew and they were so delicious.
We took our well behaved dog with us so the fact the garden at the front was not secure wasn’t an issue for us but may be for others. The cottage was spacious and clean with 3 toilets and two wet rooms, plenty of space if at capacity.

The beds are not comfortable though unfortunately. Mattresses could do with a change, the king bed was very bumpy on the left side and was sunken down plus the bed on wheels (I know this has been a problem for others) just isn’t practical.
The sofas in living room are not comfortable either, found yourself sliding off it constantly.
There was only two of us there for the last 4 days but the lack of cups and glasses (no pint glasses and odd mis matched wine glasses) would/was an issue when sleeping 6.
Bring everything with you (salt pepper bin bags cling and foil, cooking oil etc) there is nothing there (not that there should be but we have stayed in many cottages and they do usually have the basics so maybe we have been spoilt over the years ?
The owners are lovely and friendly so this is a big tick and I don’t want to take away the fact we really enjoyed the stay and would return one day (hopefully with new mattresses and sofas though.
The place is so central for exploring the English riviera so it’s worth booking for sure

We have discussed the points you raised with the property owner who advised they were not aware of the lack of mugs or glasses and have rectified this now. As you can appreciate mattress/sofa comfort are of personal preference and what 1 may find comfy another may not! Having said that the owner has since bought some mattress toppers and have been told they are extremely comfortable, we therefore hope this will reassure any guests looking to visit Oak Apple in the future.
