    “Beautiful cottage in the most stunning location, we didn’t want to leave.”

    Kate is fantastic with communication at all times and we couldn’t ask for a better host. The cottage itself is cosy & well equipped and the location is fantastic with a great pub on the doorstep and train station to take you wherever you fancy. We didn’t touch the car for the whole week. Highly recommended.

The property

On the waterfront in Lympstone, at the end of a cobbled lane, a completely refurbished semi-detached cottage in a ‘toes in the water’ position just a few yards from the water’s edge.

Fabulous water views across the bay to the harbour and over the estuary to Powderham Castle and Starcross.

Outside, a small, paved and walled area (table/chairs, bench) for alfresco dining.

Entrance from porch into living room with woodburner, smart TV/DVD, MP3 dock and small step up to dining room.

Small, smart kitchen (washing machine, microwave, fridge, electric oven/induction hob).

Downstairs loo.

From the dining room, steep stairs up to 6' lintel into a double bedroom (5' bed) with brilliant views; smart bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

More steep stairs up to a big attic bedroom with twin beds (zip-linkable to 6' double) and seating area (sloping ceiling) with comfy chairs for watching the sun sink over the distant hills.

Public car park, 400 yards.

A really well thought out, relaxing cottage, a brilliant bolt-hole whatever the time of year. Lympstone: pretty and remarkably unspoilt village between low red-stone cliffs beside the Exe estuary (sailing boats, windsurfers).

Harbour, estuary shingle beach, church, several pubs and shops, railway; stunning views.

Exmouth (sandy beaches), 3 miles; Exeter, 8; two good golf courses within 4 miles.

South West Coast Path from Lympstone to Exmouth (walk/cycle).

Lympstone

Lympstone is a picturesque fishing village situated on the shore of the Exe Estuary with stunning panoramic views from the edge of Exeter, over to Powderham Castle, Dawlish Warren and the edge of Exmouth. Situated on the SW Coastpath, the longest National Trail in the country with its superb coastline and Exe Cycle Trail, 26 miles linking Lympstone with Exmouth, Exeter and Dawlish it offers an unforgettable experience for cyclists and walkers to enjoy stunning views of the estuary. You will find four thriving pubs, a café, village shop/post office and Michael Caine’s Lympstone Manor, Lympstone’s very own Michelin Star Restaurant, together with a quaint harbour. Lympstone boasts its own train station with regular trains to the historic Cathedral City of Exeter and beyond. The traditional seaside town of Exmouth is just 3 miles away with its two miles of golden sandy beach making it perfect for watersports enthusiasts to enjoy kite surfing, kayaking, windsurfing, SUP, wakeboarding and water-skiing or families to enjoy a day on the beach. Exmouth’s new multi-million pound beach front Watersport Centre is due to open for Summer 2020. Exmouth lies at the gateway of the The Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site dating back over 250 million years covering 95 miles of stunning coastline, rich in geological interest with spectacular scenery.
