We couldn't use the apartment the first night as unfortunately the double bed bedding was stained and the twin room bedding looked clean but when we pulled back the bedding there was sand/grit and a scrunched up paper bag came out of the duvet. We reported this the next morning and the management company did come and change the beds. Unfortunately, we couldn't really use the apartment due to the overwhelming smell of damp and mould. There are evident damp/mould patches in the lounge and twin room. One of our group tried to sleep in there on the 2nd night but found it overpowering once the doors were closed. We didn't use the apartment apart from the fridge freezer as we had a problem with the electric fusing in the main house. The apartment had no hot water for 26hrs as it shares the boiler with the house. Unless the damp is resolved my recommendation is this property should not be available for rental. I have made a complaint to Sykes about this property.
