    “Rock Rose sits in a fabulous position with a stunning sea view.”

    Overall we were very happy with the place and facilities, parking is tight even for two cars, as we were a family with 3 cars we did have to park one right down the road, however this wasn’t a major issue to us. The lower seating area is lovely but I’m afraid it’s unusable if it’s been wet as the tiling is extremely slippy, which is a shame. The only thing that we would class as a complaint was that as we were leaving whilst we were packing our final bits, we can only guess it was the ...

The only thing that we would class as a complaint was that as we were leaving whilst we were packing our final bits, we can only guess it was the owner that parked across the road from the drive before the 10 am leaving time and sat and waited for us to go. We felt we were being rushed and he even pulled onto the drive when we had only just moved the two cars off before we had chance to pull our third car on to finish loading it. He didn’t get out the car to even say hello or have you had a good holiday?? We found this quite rude. There were quite a few rules and regs especially regarding dogs to say it is supposed to be dog friendly.

To the front, width-of-house sea-facing decked terrace with glazed balustrades (table/chairs, gas barbecue) for sunset drinks and alfresco suppers.

Below, down 7 steep steps (no handrail), a pretty Mediterranean-style garden with colourful pots and sheltered terrace (table/chairs) for morning coffee. From street-level parking area, 24 steps (handrail) up to front door to hall.

Stylish open-plan living/dining/kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, convection microwave, American-style fridge-freezer, gas cooker) with breakfast bar, dining table, leather sofas, gas fire and smart TV/DVD/Blu-ray/Netflix, all arranged to make the most of views through glazed sliding doors.

Downderry is a small quiet coastal village situated in south east Cornwall. Downderry has a sheltered beach, deli, and a cliff top pub and an excellent restaurant, serving quality local food. At low tide it is possible to walk along the beach from Downderry to Seaton, where you will find a family friendly south facing beach and the nearby Seaton Valley Countryside Park and Nature reserve is home to wildlife, including otters and kingfishers and also offers great cycling and walking opportunities. The picturesque working harbours at Looe and Polperro are within an easy driving distance away, and the wonderful stretches of the South West Coast Path in this part of Cornwall take you to rocky coves, dramatic headlands and tales of shipwrecks and smugglers. Further afield is Plymouth, where you will find plenty to see and do, including a marine aquarium, a theatre, large shopping centres and the historic Barbican waterside area.
