“This was one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.”

Very well equipped, comfortable beds, masses of room and the best view out over the tor. It was extremely quiet and while it was easy to get about we felt as if we were miles from anywhere. Hosts very very friendly and we were met with a home made cake and essentials like milk in the fridge. The family also have an adorable dog, cats, sheep and cows so it was a perfect stay.

“Very well equipped for cooking and catering, although a few different glasses ,sherry,whisky,gin, would be good.”

The TV was listed as a smart TV but we could only get mainstream progs. Super and warm, neat clean and tidy. Easy spacious parking. Would def recommend

“From the day we got to Puddaven bran till the day we left, my partner and I head relaxing time a Welcome Break as my partner has cancer, Lisa and Allen made us welcome and explained everything that we needed to do so peaceful and picturesque scenery, we had a couple off walksand some beautiful villages nearby, Hi wood highly recommend this cottage, and would like to say again how helpful Lisa and Allen made us welcome.”

“Absolutely stunning property, so thoughtfully done.”

Breath taking views and the owners were lovely. The property is light, airy and has lots of space. The bedrooms are well thought out with super king size beds that can be made into singles. Each has a shower and toilet with the downstairs having a bath as well. Up the stairs and you are into the lounge and kitchen. The kitchen has everything you need along with a freshly baked lovely lemon cake. The owners here made the stay very special.

“We had a lovely time at Puddaven Barn.”

It was a beautiful, cosy and relaxing stay. The location is perfect for exploring Dartmoor. Lisa and Alan were great hosts. They met us on arrival and were really friendly and gave us great ideas on where to visit/eat. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The homemade cake was delicious and a welcome treat. We will definitely be back for another visit as our dog is already missing Betsy.

Okehampton 12 miles; Exeter 21 miles.

A picturesque town at the northern point of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Chagford, one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor, is small in size but is packed with amenities and things to do. There is a wide range of shops as well as four pubs. Chagford also has more active facilities such as public tennis court and a seasonal, open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure. It is a town of great history, home to the Three Crowns Hotel which dates back to the 1200's. Chagford is well known for its culture, hosting film, literary and music festivals in the town as well as an annual running race, known as Two Hills Race. Just over 21 miles away is the bustling, beautiful city of Exeter for a different kind of break, definitely worth a visit. The charming, attractive town of Okehampton sits just 12 miles away.
