“This property is the best self we have stayed in having had 40 years of self catering holidays.”
I only gave it 9 out of 10 because the paths down to the door from the car park may be a problem for people with reduced mobility, and make it a bit awkward getting luggage to and from the house. Very peaceful setting, charming house, very well equipped, and lovely garden with lots of sitting areas

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback. It's quite an accolade to be the best you've stayed in during 40 years of self catering! We're delighted to know that guests have enjoyed their stay at Appletree Cottage.
Thank you also for the kind words you left in the guest book for Cheryl, our lovely housekeeper, and for Amanda and her team of gardeners. It means a lot to them when their efforts are appreciated. So a thank you from all the team and we hope to see you back in Appletree soon.
Thank you for drawing attention to the garden paths. We mention in the cottage notes that there are changes of level and the property is not suitable for people with limited mobility. Over the years, we've widened the paths and steps, reduced the changes of level and in general made it a bit easier to move from the parking area to the cottage. However, the cottage and gardens are built into a hillside, which is part of their charm, and there's a limit as to what more can be done. Given notice, we're sure our lovely neighbour would allow guests to bring their suitcases up her virtually step free path through her garden to our cottage.
With best wishes,
David and Hilary
