    “A charming rural cottage in a magnificent country setting, very comfortable and well-appointed accommodation that is run by friendly and helpful hosts.”

    There are amazing Dartmoor views from an enclosed, well-planted garden. This is a great location for visiting Devon in any direction, be it moorland, countryside, forestry or coastline. A choice of dog walks, hiking challenges and excellent cycle hire facilities along picturesque, traffic-free pathways, make it an ideal choice for active holidays, as well as excellent local shopping in Bridestowe, Okehampton or Tavistock. Impressive range of local pubs and restaurants as well.

A mile from Bridestowe, on a quiet country lane and surrounded by a charming smallholding (ducks, chickens), a lovely cottage carefully created from one end of the owners' thick-walled ancient home.

Three steps up to your own enclosed garden with long countryside views to Dartmoor's highest points, patio (table/chairs) and shed .

Inside, considerately furnished with some wonderfully knobbly walls.

Three steps up to front door into neat kitchen (slimline dishwasher, microwave, small fridge-freezer, electric cooker); step up to boot space and area for coats with washing machine and smart bathroom (suite, shower over bath).

From kitchen, pretty living/dining room with large inglenook (woodburner), window seat, Smart TV and central 5'8" beam.

Door to stairs up to good-sized double bedroom (5' bed, TV).

A super, romantic bolt hole for exploring Dartmoor's wild fringes or further afield. Bridestowe: village (pub, PO/shop) on the edge of Dartmoor, 2 miles from beautiful open high moorland and on the Granite Way cycle/walking trail between Okehampton (small town, golf, tennis, indoor swimming pool, cinema) and Lydford.

Okehampton by road, 7 miles; Tavistock and Launceston (historic Cornish town), both 11 miles.

Good base for touring Devon and Cornwall (easy access to A30).

Bridestowe, nr Lydford

Nestling among mature woodland on the western slopes of Dartmoor, the historic village of Lydford is a jewel in this area of outstanding scenic beauty. To the north, just half a mile away, the high tors come right down to the village edge, while to the south the River Lyd winds its way through Lydford Forest on its tumbling course northwards.
