    “The cottage was quite shabby.”

Kitchen and bedroom with bunk beds are very dark all of the time, making the flat feel claustrophobic. There is a flat directly above and you van hear people suing the toilet and having a shower. The view outside is of a very busy car park! The mattress on the bed was badly stained. There are so many places with wonderful views of the harbour as alternatives. Its a shame I cant post photos to show what is like. Would not recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience at Stones Throw did not meet your expectations. We’d like to address a few of the points you raised: Natural Light: The trees at the back of the property, which are visible in our listing photos, are currently in full leaf and may reduce natural light during the summer months. Unfortunately, these trees are not on the owner's land, and while she has requested they be trimmed, this is outside of her control. Noise: There have been no previous reports of noise from the flat above, but we understand that every guest’s experience is unique and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Location: The listing clearly shows that the property is situated above a car park, and this is visible in the main photo on the website. Cleanliness: The owner personally removed all mattresses following your stay and has not found any stains. One single mattress does have some edge discolouration, but this is not a stain and does not affect cleanliness or comfort. Pictures were also provided and we are in agreement that there are no stains present. We always encourage guests to contact us during their stay if any issues arise—we’re more than happy to help resolve them promptly. The owner takes great pride in providing a welcoming and comfortable space for guests, as reflected in the many positive reviews Stones Throw has received. We’re sorry to hear you wouldn’t recommend the property, but we remain committed to delivering excellent holiday experiences. Property Owner

About the location

ST MAWES

Falmouth 16 miles via car ferry, 3 miles via passenger ferry; Truro 10.5 miles via car ferry, 18 miles by road.

St Mawes is a small fishing village situated on the Roseland Peninsula, part of Cornwall’s Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is surrounded by rocky coves, sandy beaches and lush countryside and has a notable historic castle guarding the entrance to the River Fal. The village is a haven for boating and yachting with many events and functions taking place and of course the local produce is outstanding, with local pubs and restaurants serving delicious seafood dishes throughout the year. Nearby there are plenty of activities to keep the whole family busy including walks, watersports and boat trips. Across from the harbour is the town of Falmouth, with its magnificent natural harbour (the third largest in the world), winding streets and beaches, the amenities will keep you occupied for hours. The town's old harbour-side pubs, excellent shopping, art gallery and stunning National Maritime Museum simply complete the picture. Pendennis Castle, built by Henry VIII, is Falmouth's most popular attraction, sited on its own peninsula with superb panoramic sea views.
