“The pictures for the property must be from new as it’s in need of maintenance.”
The decking was lifting and the property needed a deep clean, we had to clean most of the cups, plates etc due to them being dirty and there was food still stuck to the oven hob. Both dishwashers didn’t clean anything, even after adding salt.
The downstairs shower screen fell off on my 2 year old nephew, someone did come out to look at it but didn’t seem at all interested in the safety of it.
The property could be lovely, the space was great just lacked love & attention. Overall we had a great week in St Ives, we love to visit Cornwall it’s beautiful
Thank you for your comments. Firstly I am relieved and thankful that your nephew was uninjured. I'll address the issue of the shower screen. I received 2 missed calls from you as I was out of phone reception, in town. So 45 mins later I returned your call. You/brother said that the shower screen had fallen off on your son but he was ok, and not injured. I said that Russell, who was quickly available, would attend. He did, within 1 hour of the first phone call from you. Russell attended and you seemed surprised that he had arrived, but again you said your 2 year old son was fine/uninjured but a little scared. Russell requested to take a look at the screen, and you were reluctant to let him assess the screen. He did do, and the screen was back on its runners and running fine. On Saturday both Russell and a second maintenance man took a look at the screen and the door was running perfectly. So we are very sorry for the incident, but cannot understand how this happened. Again apologies.
To the other issues:- The decking was removed last year (on its 10 year anniversary) new joists installed and the decking relayed. All of our decking, at all of our properties expands and contracts and moves slightly. We tap it back into position and re secure when needed.
When we came to carry out the changeover on Saturday we became aware of the dishwasher in the kitchen smelling really badly, and had remnants of food in it. I put it on a 70 degree wash cycle, checked it, cleaned the filter as normal, and left it for the following guests. It was working fine. It has been working fine since. What we do request is that when loading the dishwasher, that you ensure that the dishwasher arm is allowed to turn during the cycle. We don't need salt, as this is a soft water region.
I will ask the cleaner to check the plates and utensils to ensure they are clean between guests. Apologies.
I am disappointed that you believe it lacked love and attention. This is just not true. It goes through a winters maintenance program of repainting, ovens cleaned, sofas cleaned, deep cleaned over 5 days, when the house is stripped down, and all bedding/duvets removed and washed/replaced. Externally walls are sprayed to remove algae, decking is treated multiple time a year. There is a whole program of work carried out at this property, and all our properties. That is why it is so disappointing to read your comments that love and attention was lacking. We have never received comments like this before, and believe it doesn't reflects this property.
